UCI Road World Championships 1933
The 1933 UCI Road World Championships took place in Montlhéry (France) on August 12th and 14th .
Race course
On August 12, 1933, the amateurs started over 125 kilometers. There was a Swiss double victory by Paul Egli and Kurt Stettler . The new world champion Egli needed 37.1 km / h to win and won with a lead of 51 seconds over his compatriot. The chasing field crossed the finish line almost three minutes later. The French celebrated a double victory with the professional drivers who had to drive 250 kilometers. The 26-year-old Georges Speicher won ahead of his team mate Antonin Magne , who was five minutes behind at the finish. The hourly average for storage was 35.0 km / h.
