UCI Road World Championships 1935

The 1935 UCI Road World Championships took place on August 18 in Floreffe , Belgium .

Race course

The world championship route ran from Floreffe to Namur . For the professional drivers a course of 216 kilometers was set out, which was shortened to 162 kilometers for the amateurs. The professional world champion was the 27-year-old Belgian Jean Aerts , who had a lead of almost three minutes at the finish. He had set a speed of 35.5 km / h. The two Germans Erich Bautz (9th) and Emil Kijewski (10th) only crossed the finish line more than 19 minutes behind . The Italian Ivo Mancini needed 35.1 km / h to win the world championship among the amateurs . He won in a sprint from a three-man leading group. The German amateurs Rudi Wolkert (9th) and Walter Lober (12th) had nothing to do with the decision.
