The UCI Road World Championships 1931 took place on August 26th after 1921 in Copenhagen for the second time .

Race course

Professional drivers and amateurs alike had to cover a distance of 168 kilometers. As in the previous year, 28-year-old Learco Guerra was another Italian winner in the professional category . He won with a lead of more than four minutes over the runner-up and needed an hourly average of 34.4 kilometers for the 168 kilometers. The best German professional driver was Ludwig Geyer in 10th place. The amateur race became the domain of northern European athletes from Denmark, Sweden and Finland. The amateur world champion was 29-year-old Henry Hansen from Denmark at 34.6 km / h . There are seven Northern Europeans among the top ten. August Brandes came in 11th as the best German amateur 19 minutes behind the winner.
