organizer
German Friends of European Youth Orchestras V. (DFK)
The German Association of Friends of European Youth Orchestras (DFK) launched the Young Euro Classic festival in 2000. In addition to the idea of offering young orchestral musicians from all over the world a platform, the festival is also intended to make a contribution to openness and dialogue, for Europe, Berlin and society.
The European Composer Prize is awarded by the Governing Mayor of Berlin as part of the Young Euro Classic. The award will be given to the best or German premiere presented at the festival. The decision on the award of the € 5,000 composer prize is made by an honorary jury made up of ten music-loving amateurs plus a chairman.
