Route description
The entire route is similar to a motorway with at least two lanes in each direction of travel. The motorway is divided into three sections: Autoroute René-Lévesque is the section south of Montréal, Autoroute Décarie is the motorway in the Montréal metropolitan area and Autoroute des Laurentides in the Laurentides region .
It begins on the border with the US state of New York at the Champlain - Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle border crossing . The Interstate 87 is the southern continuation. Autoroute 15 heads north and after 55 km reaches the St. Lawrence River , which it crosses near Montréal. It runs in a north-westerly direction through Montréal and Laval. It passes the northern suburbs of Sainte-Thérèse and Saint-Jérôme . It then runs parallel to route 117 in a north-northwest direction through the hilly landscape of the Laurentides . The towns of Saint-Sauveur and Sainte-Adèle are on the route. Finally, the motorway leads past Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts and ends northwest of the small town. Route 117 is the continuation of the road to Mont-Tremblant .
