Back in the World ( English Back in the world ) is the sixth live album by Paul McCartney . At the same time, including the Wings albums, the Fireman albums, the classic albums, the live albums and compilation albums, it is the 35th album by Paul McCartney that was released in Europe after the separation of the Beatles , altogether it was his 36th album. It was released in Europe on March 17, 2003. In a broader sense, the album is the European edition of the live album Back in the US
Emergence
Following the publication and public relations work for his album Driving Rain , Paul McCartney went on tour again for the first time since 1993 in April 2002. For these planned live performances he put together a new band: Paul "Wix" Wickens, who was a member of his backing band from 1989 to 1993, as well as Abe Laboriel Jr. and Rusty Anderson , who were studio musicians on the album Driving Rain . Brian Ray joined as a new member; Paul McCartney has given concerts in this compilation to this day (as of March 2016).
From April 1 to May 18, 2002 Paul McCartney began his US tour under the name Driving Rain Tour with 27 concerts. During this tour, the live album Back in the US was recorded, the recordings of which are essentially the basis of the album Back in the World .
On 3 June 2002 took place in honor of Queen Elizabeth II. On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee (Golden Jubilee) a concert at Buckingham Palace Garden instead. One of the invited artists was Paul McCartney, who performed the songs Blackbird , Her Majesty , Hey Jude and All You Need Is Love . In July 2002 the CD Party at the Palace , which included the songs All You Need Is Love and Hey Jude , was released.
On November 29, 2002, the Concert for George took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, at which Paul McCartney sang the Harrison compositions For You Blue , Something and All Things Must Pass . McCartney sang the song While My Guitar Gently Weeps with Eric Clapton . The album Concert for George was released on November 17, 2003. The Harrison composition Something , played by Paul McCartney in memory of George Harrison, who died in November 2001, was performed by McCartney with a ukulele , one of Harrison's favorite instruments.
The European tour followed from March 25, 2003 to June 1, 2003 with 34 concerts under the name Back in the World Tour. In advance, the live album Back in the World was released on March 17th, 2003 . The differences to the live album Back in the US were as follows: The songs Vanilla Sky, C Moon and Freedom were not taken over for the album Back in the World , instead the songs Calico Skies , Michelle , Let 'Em In and She's Leaving Home were added . Furthermore, this is at Hey Jew to another live version.

As with the live albums Wings over America , Tripping the Live Fantastic and Back in the US , Back in the World was also released as a double CD. While there are five Beatles songs on the album Wings over America , the number has been increased to 15 for Tripping the Live Fantastic , for Back to the US to 19 and for Back in the World to 21; as with the albums Wings over America and Back in the US the name of authorship was also Lennon / McCartney in McCartney / Lennon reversed.
The album was commercially successful in Great Britain (22nd Top Ten album) and Germany (8th Top Ten album).
From May 25, 2004 to June 26, 2004 Paul McCartney gave another 14 concerts in Europe under the name Summer Tour .
Cover design
The cover was designed by Dewynters plc . The cover photos are from Mark Seliger, the rest of the photos on the CD booklet are from Bill Bernstein. The double CD comes with a 32-page booklet containing information about the album, the tour and pictures from the tour.

Video publishing
The concert film Paul McCartney in Red Square was during Back in the World tour on 24 May 2003 in Moscow on the Red Square added. 20 songs from this concert were used for the DVD; another 12 songs come from the concert in St. Petersburg on June 20, 2004 during the Summer Tour .
The director and producer of the film is Mark Haefeli and Emilio Nuñez as an additional director. The DVD was released on June 14, 2005 in a 5.1 mix. The DVD contains the following songs:
