Bucine ( pronunciation : [ 'bu: tʃine ]) is an Italian municipality with 10,001 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Arezzo , region of Tuscany .
geography
Bucine is located about 20 km west of the provincial capital Arezzo and 45 km southeast of the regional capital Florence in the area of Chianti Aretino in the Ambratal and ambergris . The place is in the climatic classification of Italian municipalities in zone D, 2 050 GR / G.
Its districts include Ambra , Badia Agnano (270 m, approx. 750 inhabitants), Badia a Ruoti (269 m, approx. 200 inhabitants), Capannole (237 m, approx. 100 inhabitants), Cennina , Duddova , Gavignano (308 m , approx. 20 inhabitants), Levane (170 m, approx. 1750 inhabitants, partly also belongs to Montevarchi), Mercatale Valdarno (partly also belongs to Montevarchi), Montebenichi , Perelli (255 m, approx. 25 inhabitants), Pietraviva (267 m, approx. 240 inhabitants), Pogi , Rapale , San Leolino (380 m, approx. 100 inhabitants), San Martino in Valdambra (298 m, approx. 20 inhabitants), San Pancrazio , Sogna , Solata (619 m, approx. 10 inhabitants), Torre (262 m, approx. 750 inhabitants, partly also part of Montevarchi) and Vepri (274 m, approx. 15 inhabitants). The main town of Bucine has about 2000 inhabitants.
The neighboring municipalities are Castelnuovo Berardenga ( SI ), Civitella in Val di Chiana , Gaiole in Chianti (SI), Monte San Savino , Montevarchi , Laterina Pergine Valdarno and Rapolano Terme (SI).
history
In the 13th century Bucine fell into the possession of the Counts Guidi di Modigliana . Since 1208 the place was united with the castles Pogi, Torre S. Reparata, Galatrona, Caposelvi and Rendola in the Statuto della Val d'Ambra , which in 1225 came under the protection of Arezzo and his burgrave Orlando degli Albergotti . After the expansion of the Republic of Florence, Bucine fell under its control in 1335.

- Castello di Galatrona (Torre di Galatrona), already mentioned in 963 as Canastruna castle with settlement. Belonged to the Guidi until the early 14th century and then to the Tarlati from Arezzo. In 1335 the place fell to Florence , at this time a second and older tower was documented (Torre Vecchia). This is only available today as a ruin.
