Copa México 1946/47
The Copa MX 1946-47 was the fifth edition of the football - cup competition since the introduction of professional football in Mexico .
The cup tournament was held after the league round of the 1946/47 season. The 15 teams that were represented in the top division in the same season were eligible to participate .
Cup winners for the second time after 1943 , when the tournament was held for the first time under professional conditions, the team of Unión Deportiva Moctezuma .

The matches were played in a knockout system and decided in only one game.

The matches of the round of 16 were played on June 15, 1947, the required replay between Moctezuma and Atlas (4: 3) took place on June 17, 1947.

Semifinals
The semi-finals were played on June 26, 1947. The game between the clubs from the state of Veracruz , UD Moctezuma and CD Veracruz, took place at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Mexico City , while both cup games between CD Oro and Puebla FC were played in Parque Oro in Guadalajara , Oro's regular home ground . The first game ended goalless after extra time , so that on June 29, 1947 a replay was required, which Oro won 1-0 by a goal from Benjamin "Bailarina" Méndez in the 68th minute.

final
The final was held on July 3, 1947 at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Mexico City . After just 20 minutes, Club Deportivo Oro was 3-1 against Unión Deportiva thanks to goals from Carlos Círico (3rd and 15th minutes) and Atilio Mellone (20th minute) when Daniel Muñoz (8th minute) scored 3-1 Moctezuma in the lead. But Moctezuma was able to turn the game around in the last half hour with goals from Julio Ayllón Aparicio (60th and 85th minute) and Honorio Arteaga (73th minute) and won the cup competition for the second time since 1943.
