The German Three Cushion Championship 1986/87 (DDM) was the 53rd edition of this tournament series and took place from October 25th to 26th, 1986 in Landau .

history

The local organizer and host on behalf of the German Billard Association (DBB) was BC Landau. The Landau circular sports hall was selected as the venue.

Defending champion Hans-Jürgen Kühl threatened to end in the first round against Fritz Günther from Neunkirchen. It was only in extra time that he was able to prevail 5-0. In the second round he had to play his best game against the young Berlin Christian Zöllner to reach the final. But here he had found his master in Edgar Bettzieche from Bochum. Bettzieche secured his first three-tier title in Landau. The best tournament average was played by Christian Zöllner with 1,030 .

mode

The games were played in the qualification groups with up to 50 points or 60 shots. The two best in the group and the best third in the group qualified for the final round. Here, up to 50 points were played in the knockout system with no record limits. The entire tournament was played with a push . The final placement was based on the following criteria:

  1. Match points
  2. General average (GD)
  3. Maximum series (HS)
