German television award 2021

The presentation of the German Television Prize 2021 took place on September 16, 2021 in the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne , and the gala was broadcast on television during prime time. The presentation was moderated for the fifth time in a row by Barbara Schöneberger . RTL was in charge of organizing the event after the award ceremony last year.

A jury chaired by producer Wolf Bauer decided on the nominees and award winners .

All television productions of German origin or with significant creative and economic involvement by German clients that were published between May 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021 were eligible for the award.

The nominations were announced on September 1, 2021. Oktoberfest 1900 and Para - Wir sind King were nominated five times each . On September 14, the winners in the eleven creative person categories in the program areas of fiction, entertainment and information were announced in advance.
