The Dodge Senior (also: Dodge Series 2249 , Dodge Series 2251/2252 , Dodge S-Series , Dodge DB-Series ) was a large passenger car made by the Dodge Brothers company in Detroit , which was presented in May 1927. After being taken over by Chrysler in 1928, it was built for two more years.

The cars had a side-controlled six-cylinder in-line engine with 3,676 cm³ displacement, the 60 bhp (44 kW) at 2800 rpm. submitted. It was the brand's first six-cylinder. Its power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a single-disc dry clutch and a three-speed gearbox. The car was redesigned in January 1928. The engine now gave 68 bhp (50 kW) at 2800 rpm with the same displacement. from. Of all four body types, there were now additional sports versions that had contoured fenders, wire-spoke wheels and spare wheels on the sides of the vehicle.

In mid-1928, the cars were thoroughly redesigned and given 4 ″ more wheelbase (3048 mm). The engine was also bored out to 3,959 cc and developed 78 bhp (57.3 kW) at 3000 rpm. Of the sports models, only the coupé and the sedan remained, but a 2-door Victoria and a 4-door Landaulet were added.

In mid-1929, the S series was renamed the DB series, with the majority of the models being adopted. The four-speed transmission was one of the technical innovations. Only four bodies were offered: sedan, coupé, roadster and Victoria.

From November 1930, the DH series replaced the Senior.
