The FK Achmat Grozny is established in 1946 a Russian football club from Grozny , the capital of the Republic of Chechnya . From 1958 to 2017, the club was known as RFK Terek Grozny ( Russian Республиканский Футбольный клуб "Терек» Грозный , Respublikanski futbolny club "Terek" Grozny , transliteration scientific. Soviet championship

The association was founded in 1946 as Dynamo ( Динамо ) and was renamed Neftjanik ( Нефтяник , "oil workers") in 1948 . In 1958 it was renamed after the river Terek . During the period of the USSR, Grozny always played under-class, but the stadium in Grozny with 30,000 seats was mostly sold out.

Decline (1992-2000)

After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, Grozny was accepted into the Russian second division . In 1993 and 1994 there were two successive relegations. Due to the beginning of the first Chechen war , foreign teams refused to play in Grozny. The team broke up and the club only played at the local level for the next seven years. At times the Terek stadium was used as a base and workshop for Russian armored forces. In 1997/98 the rebel leader and terrorist Shamil Basayev , who was later responsible for the hostage-taking in the musical Nord-Ost in Moscow , became President of Terek; he even played in the storm of the first team a few times. With the beginning of the second Chechen war, Terek disappeared completely from the scene in 1998/99.

New beginning (since 2001)

In 2001 Terek was "brought back to life", directed until his death by the Chechen president, Akhmat Kadyrov , who was loyal to Moscow , and was generously financed by the Russian state. For 2005 the Russian media reported a budget of 30 million (the fourth highest in Russia); the actual budget is likely to be only marginally lower. Terek started in the third highest Russian league , but succeeded in the four seasons up to 2004, the double promotion to the Premjer league . On May 29, 2004, the team achieved the greatest success in the club's history as a second division team to date; Terek won the Russian Cup with a 1-0 win against the first division club Krylja Sowetow Samara in the final at Moscow's Lokomotiv Stadium .

Terek was thus eligible to play in the 2004/05 UEFA Cup qualifying , which the team mastered and was only eliminated in the main round against Swiss representatives FC Basel after a 1-1 home draw and a 2-0 defeat; previously the Polish first division club Lech Posen was thrown out of the competition in the second qualifying round after two wins with 1-0 each. The 2005 season in the Premjer league was less good for Terek, the club finished it as 16th and last and had to relegate immediately. In the 2006 season Terek finished 8th in the 1st Division (the second Russian league), in 2007 the runner-up in the 1st Division was won, so that Terek took part in the game operations of the Premjer League in the 2008 season . With the 10th place the relegation was clearly achieved. On January 18, 2011 it was announced that Ruud Gullit could be signed as the new coach. His release was reported just five months later. On September 27, 2011, the club announced the commitment of Stanislaw Tschertschessow as the new head coach. The President of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, was President of FK Terek Grozny until November 2011 . His successor is the Chechen Vice-President Magomed Daudov. In May 2013, Stanislav Tschertschessow left the club. On November 7, 2013 Raschid Rachimow was signed as the new head coach. On June 20, 2017, the club was renamed FK Akhmat Grozny .
