The FTSE 250 Index ( colloquially : Footsie ; pronounced : fʊt͡si , "Futzi") is a British stock index that includes the shares of the 250 largest companies after those in the FTSE 100 Index that are traded on the London Stock Exchange (i.e. those in the size ranges 101-350). He is determined by the FTSE Group , which emerged from a joint venture between the London Stock Exchange and the Financial Times . FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 together form the FTSE 350 index .

calculation

The FTSE 250 is a price index and represents 17 percent of the market capitalization of the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The index level is determined solely on the basis of share prices and only adjusted for income from subscription rights and special payments. Dividend payments are not included in the calculation of the index. Corporate actions such as stock splits have no (distorting) influence on the index. The calculation is updated in real time during LSE trading hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm local time (9:00 am to 5:30 pm CET) and published every minute.

The investment universe includes all companies headquartered in Great Britain that are listed on the London Stock Exchange. To create a shortlist, the companies in the investment universe are sorted in descending order according to market capitalization from 350 to 101. The composition of the FTSE 250 is reviewed quarterly in March, June, September and December. The index started on December 31, 1985 with a base value of 1412.60 points.
