Ferrières is a French municipality with 922 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017), in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ) is located. It belongs to the arrondissement of La Rochelle and the canton of Marans (until 2015: canton of Courçon ). The inhabitants are called Ferrangeois .
geography
Ferrières is about 20 kilometers east-northeast of La Rochelle . Ferrières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jean-de-Liversay in the north and north-west, Saint-Cyr-du-Doret in the north, Courçon in the north-east, Benon in the south and east and Saint-Sauveur-d'Aunis in the south and west.
The National Route 11 runs through the municipality .
