The First Division 1922/23 was the twelfth season in the history of the highest Maltese football league . The Sliema Wanderers became champions for the second time .

Compared to the previous season , Malta Police and FC St. George’s did not participate. The Vittoriosa Rovers were new again after five years .

mode

The season was played in a simple round. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no point for a loss. If there was a tie, a playoff was played for the championship.
