Frank Marion Eddy (born April 1, 1856 in Pleasant Grove , Olmsted County , Minnesota , †  January 13, 1929 in Saint Paul , Minnesota) was an American politician . Between 1895 and 1903 he represented the state of Minnesota in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In 1860, Frank Eddy moved to Iowa with his parents for three years . He then settled in Olmsted County, Minnesota. In 1867 he moved to Sauk Center in Stearns County . In these places he attended public schools. He then taught himself for some time as a teacher before he worked as a land scout for the Northern Pacific Railroad between 1881 and 1882. After moving to Glenwood , Eddy was a clerk at the Pope County District Court between 1884 and 1893 .

Politically, Eddy was a member of the Republican Party . In the congressional elections of 1894 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the seventh constituency of Minnesota , where he succeeded Haldor Boen on March 4, 1895 . After three re-elections, he was able to complete four consecutive terms in Congress by March 3, 1903 . During this time the Spanish-American War of 1898 fell . Between 1901 and 1903 Frank Eddy was chairman of the mining committee.

In 1902, Eddy turned down another candidacy. From 1901 to 1907 he was the owner and editor of the Sauk Center Herald newspaper. Between 1907 and 1915 Eddy worked as an author and reciter. In 1916 he was employed by the Minnesota Immigration Service. He then moved to Saint Paul, where he was again active as a journalist. From 1918 Eddy was employed by the Minnesota state government in the driving duties of the Secretary of State . He held this post until his death in 1929.
