Robert Selmer Bergland (* 22. July 1928 in Roseau , Minnesota ; † 9. December 2018 ,) was an American politician of the Democratic Party , both deputy in the US House of Representatives for Minnesota and Minister of Agriculture of the United States was.

biography

After attending public schools in Roseau, he studied agricultural sciences at the School of Agriculture of the University of Minnesota and completed this study in 1948. After retiring from government, he moved into the private sector in March 1981 and was first president of Farmland Word Trade before becoming vice president and chief executive officer of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association , an organization that established over 900 electricity cooperatives in the United States , between September 1982 and 1993 USA represents.
