Milo White

Milo White (born August 17, 1830 in Fletcher , Franklin County , Vermont , † May 18, 1913 in Chatfield , Minnesota ) was an American politician.

In his home town of Vermont, Milo White attended public schools and the Brigham Academy in Bakersfield . He moved to New York in 1853 and to Chatfield in the Minnesota Territory in 1855 , where he initially worked in the trade. He was a member of the Minnesota Senate from 1872 to 1876 and in 1881 and 1882 . He was then elected as a Republican to Congress , where he represented the state of Minnesota from March 4, 1883 to March 3, 1887 in the House of Representatives of the United States . After two legislative terms, he resigned from Congress; his mandate went to the Democrats Thomas Wilson . Then White went back to his previous job. He subsequently held several terms as Mayor of Chatfield; an attempted return to the US House of Representatives failed in 1898.

Milo White died in Chatfield in 1913 and was buried in the local cemetery.
