Góra ( German  Annahöhe ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Korsze ( urban and rural municipality Korschen ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Góra is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 18 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

Today's hamlet ( Osada in Polish ) Góra was founded in 1853 as a Vorwerk Annenhöhe . Provided with a brick factory , it was a residential place within the municipality of Karschau ( Polish : Karszewo ) in the district of Rastenburg in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia until 1945 .

With all of southern East Prussia , Annahöhe came to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and was given the Polish form of the name “Góra”. Today it is a village within the urban and rural municipality of Korsze (Korschen) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship belongs.

Until 1945 Annahöhe was parish in the Protestant Church of Korschen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church in Korschen. Today Góra still belongs to Korsze on the catholic side, and on the Protestant side to the parish in Kętrzyn within the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Góra can be reached directly overland via Wiklewo (Winkeldorf) . There is no train connection.
