Podlechy ( German Podlechen ) is a village in Poland in the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Korsze (Korschen) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).
Geographical location
Podlechy is located in northern Poland in historic East Prussia on the southern outskirts of Korsze , 17 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German Rastenburg ).
history
Local history
The village was laid out on June 23, 1342 with the permission of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, Ludolf König von Wattzau . The area belonging to the village comprised five hooves . In 1785 there were 18 residential buildings, in 1817 there were 19 in which 161 people lived.
From 1874 to 1945 Podlechen was in the District Korschen incorporated. He belonged to the district of Rastenburg in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia .
A fire in July 1908 destroyed most of the village.
At the beginning of January 1945 the area and with it the village was taken by the Red Army . As a result of the Second World War , Podlechen became part of Poland as Podlechy .
In 1973 the village was the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) to which the villages Olszynka (Waldriede) and Krzemity (Kremitten) belonged. Today the village is part of the urban and rural municipality of Korsze.

Until 1945 Podlechen was parish in the Evangelical Church in Schönfließ ( Polish Kraskowo ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church Korschen (Polish Korsze ) in the Diocese of Warmia . Today Podlechy belongs to the Protestant parish Kętrzyn in the diocese Mazury of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Polenbzw . to the Catholic Church Korsze in the present Archdiocese of Warmia .

The voivodship road 590 runs through Podlechy , which leads to the south after about twelve kilometers through Reszel (Rößel) and in the north through Korsze and finally north of Barciany (Barten) into the voivodship road 591 . The nearest train station is Korsze, where the Białystok – Głomno and Toruń – Chernyachovsk lines now end.
