Wiklewko ( German  Klein Winkeldorf ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Korsze ( urban and rural community Korschen ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Wiklewko is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 19 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

The place Klein Winkeldorf emerged as a Vorwerk and was incorporated into the Karschau estate (in Polish : Karszewo ) in the district of Dönhofstädt (in Polish: Drogosze ) in the East Prussian district of Rastenburg . In 1885 there were 61 registered residents in Klein Winkeldorf, and in 1905 there were 46.

On November 12, 1924, the Vorwerk Klein Winkeldorf was reclassified into the rural community of Groß Winkeldorf ( Wiklewo in Polish ), which from 1929 belonged to the Paaris district ( Parys in Polish ).

1945 Small Angle village came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Wiklewko". Today the hamlet ( Przysiółek in Polish ) is assigned to the neighboring village Wiklewo as "wsi Wiklewo" and as such a place within the urban and rural municipality of Korsze (Korschen) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia Voivodeship -Masures associated.

Until 1945 Klein Winkeldorf was parish in the Evangelical Church of Paaris in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of Korschen in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Wiklewko belongs on the Catholic side to the parish Parys in the current Archdiocese of Warmia and on the Protestant side to the parish Kętrzyn with the branch church Barciany (Barten) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Wiklewko is located on a side road that branches off from Voivodship Road 590 at Parys (Paaris) and leads via Wiklewo (Groß Winkeldorf) and Karszewo (Karschau) to Giełpsz (Gelbsch) . There is no connection to rail traffic .
