history

The manor district of Bollendorf was incorporated into the newly established district of Prassen ( Polish Prosna ) in 1874 and thus belonged to the district of Rastenburg in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 Bollendorf had 73 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, the manor district of Bollendorf merged with the neighboring community Schlömpen (Polish Słępy ) to form the new rural community Schlömpen.

In 1945, as a result of the war, Bollendorf was transferred to Poland with all of southern East Prussia . The place received the Polish form of the name "Bykowo". Today it is part of the municipality of Korsze (Korschen) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Bollendorf was parish up to 1945 in the Protestant Church of Leunenburg ( Polish Sątoczno ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church Sturmhübel (Polish Grzęda ) in the Diocese of Warmia . Today Bykowo belongs on the Catholic side to the parish of Sątoczno in the current Archdiocese of Warmia and on the Protestant side to the parish Kętrzyn with the branch churches Barciany (Barten) and Bartoszyce (Bartenstein) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
