Good Warnikeim

The entrance gate to the Warnikeim manor

From the 17th century Warnikeim belonged to the family von Borcke's regular property . From 1916, the estate heir, the Gerdauen district administrator Julius Freiherr von Braun , had a manor house similar to a knight's castle built next to the old buildings. The Gerdauen architect Paul Engler made the drafts . Prisoners of war were used in the construction work and the bricks came from the estate's own brickworks , both of which reduced the construction costs of this imposing building, which was also called "Little Marienburg". The von Braun family moved into the manor house in 1923, and in 1929 it was sold to the bank due to the agricultural crisis. At that time the property had an operating area of almost 600 hectares. Baron von Braun died of a heart attack on September 19, 1931. His family moved to Königsberg , the land was divided into four farms.

In 1934 the main house and the large round tower were demolished. The inspector's house, the stables and the entrance gate have been preserved.
