The HC Ocelari Trinec is a Czech ice hockey club from Třinec , who in 1995 Extraliga and thus the highest professional class of the country plays.

history

The club was founded in 1929 as SK Třinec and played its home games until 2014 in the old factory arena with a capacity of 5,200 people . The club has been playing under its current name since 1999.

The greatest success so far in the club's history was reaching the play-off final in the 1997/98 season , but there the professional team failed at HC Petra Vsetín . The following year she reached third place in the league and was able to build on the successes of the previous season.

In the 2010/11 season, the club won the main round and the President's Cup, which has been awarded since 2009. In the play-offs, the team defeated HC Litvínov 4: 2, HC Slavia Prague 4: 3 in the first round and thus reached the final against HC Vítkovice Steel . In this it dominated the opponent and won the best-of-seven series with 4: 1. Thus the club achieved the first title win in club history.

In 2012, construction began on a multi-purpose hall in the immediate vicinity of the old ice rink, which has been the club's home venue since 2014 and is also called Werk Arena .

The second championship was celebrated in 2019.
