The establishment of the regiment was decided by AKO on September 27, 1866 (Foundation Day). The association was formed from the following regular troops and united on November 6, 1866 in Neisse .

First World War

During the First World War , the 84er had a recruiting office in the 162er garrison ( Lübeck ).

Whereabouts

After the end of the war, the regiment began to march back home, where it was demobilized on January 7, 1919 and finally disbanded. The 1st Volunteer Company was formed from parts and was integrated into the 2nd Battalion of the 18th Reichswehr Infantry Regiment in June 1919.

The tradition in the Reichswehr was adopted by the 7th Company of the 6th Infantry Regiment in Eutin by decree of the Chief of Army Command, General of the Infantry Hans von Seeckt , on August 24, 1921 .
