La Petite-Verrière is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Autun in the Morvan massif. La Petite-Verrière is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Cussy-en-Morvan in the north, Sommant in the east, La Celle-en-Morvan in the south, Roussillon-en-Morvan in the west and south-west and Anost in the west and north-west.
