Morey is about 15 kilometers west of Chalon-sur-Saône . Morey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Bérain-sur-Dheune in the north and northeast, Châtel-Moron in the east, Villeneuve-en-Montagne in the south, Saint-Julien-sur-Dheune in the southwest, Essertenne in the west and northwest and Perreuil in the Northwest.
