The list of municipalities in the Görlitz district gives an overview of the 53 administrative units in the Görlitz district in Saxony . The district consists of 15 cities (including 5 large district towns ) and 38 municipalities. The district of Görlitz was created for the district reform in Saxony on August 1, 2008 through the amalgamation of the Lower Silesian Upper Lusatia district and the district of Löbau-Zittau and the independent city of Görlitz . The district of Görlitz is the easternmost district in Saxony and Germany.

There are a total of two administrative associations and twelve administrative communities in the district of Görlitz :

The cities of Ebersbach-Neugersdorf , Görlitz , Herrnhut , Niesky , Ostritz , Seifhennersdorf and Zittau as well as the communities Boxberg / OL , Kottmar , Krauschwitz , Leutersdorf , Markersdorf , Mittelherwigsdorf and Oderwitz are not members of an administrative community.

The district has a total area of ​​2,111.42 km² . The municipality Boxberg / OL has the largest area within the district with 217.69 km². This is followed by the municipality of Krauschwitz with an area of ​​106.83 km² and the large district town of Löbau with 78.9 km². The smallest area has the municipality of Beiersdorf with 6.45 km².

The district of Görlitz has a total of 252,725 inhabitants. The largest number of inhabitants in the district has the large district town Görlitz with 55,980 inhabitants, followed by the large district towns Zittau with 25,086 and Weißwasser / Oberlausitz with 15,886 inhabitants. The largest municipality in the district is Kottmar with 7236 inhabitants. The smallest town is Ostritz with 2241 inhabitants. Kreba-Neudorf has the fewest inhabitants with 856 inhabitants.

The entire district of Görlitz has a population density of 120 inhabitants per km². The greatest population density is in the large district town of Görlitz with 829 inhabitants per km², followed by the city of Ebersbach-Neugersdorf with 580 inhabitants per km² and the large district town of Zittau with 376 inhabitants per km². Boxberg / OL has the lowest population density with 20 inhabitants per km².
