Kreba-Neudorf , in Upper Sorbian Chrjebja-Nowa Wjes , is a Saxon municipality in the district of Görlitz . It lies in the Sorbian settlement area of Upper Lusatia . Kreba-Neudorf forms the administrative community of Rietschen with the neighboring municipality of Rietschen .

According to its population, Kreba-Neudorf is the sixth smallest municipality in Saxony .

geography

Kreba-Neudorf is located in the northern part of the district, in the north of the former district of Niesky , about 10 km northwest of the city of Niesky . The community, through which the Schwarzen Schöps flows, is located in the middle of the Upper Lusatian heath and pond landscape, which is rich in forests and ponds .

Community structure

Districts are Kreba ( Chrjebja ) , Lache ( Čorna Truha ) , Neudorf ( Nowa Wjes ) and Tschernske ( Černsk ) .

history

Kreba was mentioned for the first time in 1409 and Neudorf in 1519. In the parish of Kreba, all four districts of today's parish as well as some of the neighboring town of Mücka to the south are connected early on .

The community came into being on January 1, 1973, when the two communities Kreba (with Tschernske and Lache) and Neudorf merged.

Four months before the Lower Silesian Upper Lusatia District was founded , the neighboring communities of Kreba-Neudorf, Klitten (both Niesky district ) and Reichwalde ( Weisswasser district ) merged across district boundaries to form the Heidedörfer administrative association . With its dissolution, the community entered into an administrative partnership with Rietschen.

Economy and Infrastructure

One of the production sites of Lorenz Snack-World is located in Kreba-Neudorf .

Another economically important company is Krebaer Teichfisch GmbH, which breeds several tons of fish every year in the Krebaer pond areas.

Transport links

The Hoyerswerda – Niesky – Görlitz railway line runs through the community , the nearest stations are in Klitten and Mücka .

The federal highway 156 runs west of the municipality, the federal highway 115 east of it. Both lead to the federal motorway 4 running south , which can be reached via the Weißenberg junction (about 15 km).
