The Manor MRT05 is the sixth and final Formula 1 - racing cars from Manor Racing . The vehicle was used in the 2016 Formula 1 World Championship . It was presented on February 22nd, 2016 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya .

Technology and development

The MRT05 is the successor to the Marussia MR03 used in 2014 and 2015 . The vehicle was completely redeveloped and therefore differs significantly from the previous model, both externally and technically.

After the team competed with Ferrari engines in the 2014 specification for two years , Mercedes was introduced as the new engine supplier. The MRT05 is powered by the Mercedes-Benz PU106C Hybrid , a 1.6-liter V6 engine with a turbocharger . The transmission and rear suspension are from Williams . In addition to the engine, Manor also receives the gasoline and lubricants, both developed by Petronas , from the engine supplier Mercedes.

Painting and sponsorship

The car is painted in orange, white and blue. During the test drives before the start of the season, the Indonesian state-owned company Pertamina was the only sponsor; its logo was placed on the rear wing of the car. During the season, the sponsors Shazam , Airbnb and Rescale as well as Rebellion were added, whose stickers are attached to the side surfaces of the rear wing and on the mirrors. After Rio Haryanto was replaced as a regular driver, the Pertamina logos disappeared from the vehicle.

driver

Manor started the 2016 season with the driver duo Haryanto and Pascal Wehrlein , who both made their Formula 1 debuts. From the Belgian Grand Prix , Haryanto was replaced by Esteban Ocon , who also made his Formula 1 debut.
