Meierijstad is a municipality in the east of the province of Noord-Brabant , Netherlands . It was created on January 1, 2017 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Schijndel , Sint-Oedenrode and Veghel . The community has 80,854 inhabitants (January 31, 2019) on a land area of 184.09 km².
politics
In the first local election in the history of the municipality, the local electoral group Team Meierijstad won 28.11 percent of the vote. The CDA took second place, while the VVD, on the other hand, was the third strongest force. For the 2017–2022 legislative period, the parties CDA, PvdA , Team Meierijstad and VVD have formed a coalition.
