Son en Breugel ( listen ^{? / I} ) is a municipality in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant .

Districts

The community consists of the districts Breugel and Son as the seat of the administration. Son is about 10 km as the crow flies north of Eindhoven and directly north of the Wilhelminakanal .

history

Operation Garden - part of Operation Market Garden - began in the area on September 17, 1944 . Soldiers of the German Wehrmacht blew up a road bridge near Son, which crossed the Wilhelmina Canal, in front of the attackers.

politics

The local voter group DorpsVISIE with more than a third of all votes and from now on forms a coalition with the CDA and the PvdA / GroenLinks .
