Boekel is a Dutch municipality in the south of the country in the province of Noord-Brabant .

The city of Uden is 8 kilometers north, Veghel 9 km west, Helmond 14 km south, Eindhoven 22 km south-west, 's-Hertogenbosch 26 km north-west and Amsterdam 95 km north-west (all information as the crow flies to the respective city center).

The next motorway exits are in the south at Someren on the A67 ( E34 ), in the east at Boxmeer on the A73 (partly E31 ) and in the west at Best , Boxtel and 's-Hertogenbosch on the A2 ( E25 ).

The nearest train stations are in Helmond, Deurne , Eindhoven, Best, Venray and Boxmeer.

Eindhoven Airport is the closest airport, which mostly offers scheduled flights to other European countries, as well as charter flights to non-European holiday destinations in the summer months. The Amsterdam airport is the nearest international airport.

politics

The CDA was able to improve its share of the vote by around 22 percentage points compared to the 2014 local elections and won the election on March 21, 2018. Together with the Gemeenschapsbelang Venhorst-Boekel and the VVD, they will form the coalition between 2018 and 2022.
