Meysse is a French commune with 1,319 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardèche department and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Privas and the canton Le Pouzin (until 2015: canton Rochemaure ). The inhabitants are called Meyssois .

geography

Meysse is located on the western bank of the Rhone and about six kilometers north-north-west of Montélimar . Meysse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Vincent-de-Barrès in the north, Cruas in the north and northeast, La Coucourde in the northeast, Savasse in the east, Rochemaure in the south and Saint-Martin-sur-Lavezon in the west.
