Freyssenet is a French municipality with 47 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Ardèche, in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .
geography
Freyssenet is located in southern France in the easternmost part of the Massif Central in Vivarais on the Plateau du Coiron , 22 kilometers northwest of Montélimar , about 15 kilometers northeast of Aubenas , 8 kilometers southwest of Privas , the capital of the canton of Privas and the arrondissement of Privas , and 4 kilometers southeast of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park . The neighboring municipalities of Freyssenet are Saint-Étienne-de-Boulogne in the northwest, Saint-Priest in the northeast, Berzème in the southeast and Darbres in the southwest. The municipal area covers 954 hectares, the mean height is 633 meters above sea level , the Mairie stands at an altitude of 782 meters. The Auzon rises in the municipality. Other watercourses in Freyssenet are the Bayonne and Le Bosc streams.
Freyssenet is assigned to a type Cfb (according to Köppen and Geiger) climate zone : warm, moderate rainy climate (C), fully humid (f), warmest month below 22 ° C, at least four months above 10 ° C (b). There is a maritime climate with a moderate summer.

Economy and Infrastructure
In Freyssenet 2006 was wind farm with five wind turbines of the type Vestas V80 / 2000 put into operation. In 2009 there was an incident in which one of the wind turbines burned down. This incident was particularly worrying as Freyssenet is considered one of the communities at risk of forest fire.
Local products
In the municipality there are controlled designations of origin (AOC) for beef (Fin gras du Mézenc) , picodon and sweet chestnuts (Châtaigne d'Ardèche) as well as protected geographical indications (IGP) for sausages (Saucisson de l'Ardèche) , ham (Jambon de l ' Ardèche) and wine (Ardèche and Méditerranée) . The cattle from which Fin gras du Mézenc is made are fed with hay grown on the mountains of a certain area. The ham Jambon de l'Ardèche is rubbed with salt, pepper and spices and cured. During its seven-month ripening phase, it is coated with a mixture of lard , spices and chestnut flour.
