The National Assembly ( Swahili honeycomb ) is the lower house of the parliament of Kenya . It faces the Senate as a second chamber .

The National Assembly building is located in the capital, Nairobi .

According to Article 95 of the Kenyan Constitution, the National Assembly consists of a total of 349 members. Of these, 290 are directly elected representatives of the constituencies, 47 are women who each represent a county and 12 are MPs, who are appointed by the parties in proportion to their election results and are supposed to represent special social groups, including the youth, disabled people and workers. The speaker of the National Assembly is a member ex officio .
