The State Assembly ( Slovenian Državni zbor ; abbreviation: DZ ) is the second chamber of the Slovenian Parliament.

    function

The State Assembly has 90 seats and is elected by popular vote for a legislative period of four years. The first chamber is the State Council (Državni svet) . According to the constitution, the recognized ethnic minorities ( Italians and Magyars ) are each entitled to one representative in the State Assembly. These minority representatives have an absolute right of veto on issues that exclusively affect their ethnic groups . The four percent hurdle applies to entry into the State Assembly .
