Renville County is a county in the state of North Dakota in the United States . The county seat is Mohall .

The county is located in northwest North Dakota, bordering Canada, and has an area of 2310 square kilometers, of which 45 square kilometers are water. It is bordered by counties in the United States in a clockwise direction: Bottineau County , McHenry County , Ward County, and Burke County .
There is a national wildlife refuge in the county , the Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge .
history
Renville County was formed in 1873. It was named after Joseph Renville .
Two buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of April 1, 2018).

As of the 2000 census , Renville Counties had 2,610 people in 1,085 households and 748 families. The population density was 1 person per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 97.74 percent white, 0.23 percent African American, 0.65 percent Native American, 0.46 percent Asian and 0.11 percent from other ethnic groups; 0.80 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 0.73 percent of the population.
Of the 1,085 households, 28.7 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 60.4 percent were married couples living together, 5.6 percent were single mothers, 31.0 percent were non-families, 28.5 percent were single households and 14.7 percent had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.90.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 23.3 percent of residents under the age of 18, 4.9 percent between 18 and 24 years of age, 24.4 percent between 25 and 44 years of age, 25.3 percent between 45 and 64 years of age 22.0 percent were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 100.3 males. For every 100 women aged 18 or over, there were 101.7 men statistically.
The median income for a household in the city was $ 30,746 , and the median income for a family was $ 36,023. Males had a median income of $ 25,346 versus $ 16,700 for females. The per capita income was $ 16,478. 8.5 percent of families and 11.0 percent families lived below the poverty line. Of these, 14.1 percent were children or adolescents under 18 years of age and 9.1 percent were people over 65 years of age.
