Saint-Martin-du-Tertre is located about 30 kilometers north of Paris and covers an area of 1323 hectares. Neighboring communities are:
- Asnières-sur-Oise in the north,
- Viarmes in the northeast,
- Belloy-en-France in the east,
- Villaines-sous-Bois in the southeast,
- Maffliers in the southwest,
- Presles to the west and
- Noisy-sur-Oise in the north-west.
history
In Saint-Martin-du-Tertre lived (21, Rue de la Forêt) of Resistance fighters André Baude. He was arrested and tortured by the Gestapo on August 4, 1944 . On August 15, 1944, Baudé was executed by shooting together with 13 other resistance fighters in Domont . The street where Baudé lived back then bears his name today.

Saint-Martin-du-Tertre, together with Belloy-en-France, has the Belloy - Saint-Martin station , where trains on the H line stop. Thus the place is connected to the rail network of the suburban trains of Paris .

- Claude Chappe (1763–1805) and Ignace Chappe carried out attempts at optical telegraphy in the community in 1793 .
- The French writer and politician Benjamin Constant (1767-1830) lived in the community from 1802 to 1810.
