Steam Awards
The Steam Awards are presented by the online sales platform for computer games and software Steam . The users of the platform vote. In contrast to other award ceremonies, not only games from last year are nominated. Steam Level 8 or higher users will receive a Steam Awards trading card for every day they vote in the Steam Awards. The first Steam Awards took place in early 2017 for 2016 . The winners were announced at the first two awards on January 3rd at 7pm. The winners of the Steam Awards 2018, however, were only announced on February 8, 2019 at 7 p.m. as part of a live stream. The winners of the Steam Awards 2019 were announced on January 1, 2020, and for the first time only games that were released in 2019 could be nominated. The category Work of Love is excluded from this .
