Stresow is a village and a district of Möckern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Stresow is about ten kilometers east of the district town of Burg .

history

It was first mentioned in a document in 1306. On September 30, 1928, the Stresow manor district was merged with the Kähnert manor district and transformed into a rural community in Stresow. Until August 31, 2010 Stresow was an independent municipality and on September 1, 2010 became a district of the city of Möckern. In a report published by the MDR in 2015, the place is described as "firmly in the grip" of the right-wing extremist hooligan . The NPD gained 25.4 percent of the vote in the 2011 state election .

The coat of arms was approved on April 11, 2008 by the district.

Blazon : "Split of red and silver, in front a black grooved silver pinnacle tower with two black arched windows on stacks, three red roses with golden lugs and green sepals in the back."

The colors of the place are: silver (white) - red. The coat of arms was designed by the local heraldic Jörg Mantzsch .

traffic

To the federal highway 1 , which connects Magdeburg with Berlin , it is approx. 9.5 km to the north. The federal motorway 2 with the junction Theeßen is reached in 5.5 km.
