from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At-Taghabun ( Arabic التغابن at-Taġābun  'The Cheating') is the 64th sura of the Koran , it contains 18 verses . The content of the sura is clearly reminiscent of themes from the third Meccan period (620–622), which may havebeen taken upagain in Medina .

etymology

Linguistically, the title of the sura is derived from the Arabic root غبن(ġ-bn) meaning: cheating, tricking, taking advantage of, burdening; Dizziness, harm, impairment, fraud, evasion, embezzlement.

content

The sura primarily deals with the omnipotence of God, the mission of the prophets, the certainty of the resurrection and the retribution of good and bad deeds in the hereafter . The title refers to verse 9, in which the “day of the meeting”, that is, the day of divine judgment , is referred to as the “day of the cheating”, whereby the nature of this cheating is interpreted differently.
