Town Hall (Mairie) of Théza

Théza ( Occitan and Catalan : Tesà ) is a place and a municipality in southern France with 2,040 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in what is now the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the Occitania region . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Céret and the canton of La Plaine d'Illibéris (until 2015: canton of Elne ). The inhabitants are called Thézanais .

location

Théza is located about eight kilometers southeast of Perpignan in the old cultural landscape of Roussillon . The river Réart , which flows five kilometers east into the Mediterranean Sea, forms the northern municipal boundary. Théza is surrounded by the neighboring communities Saleilles in the north, Alénya in the east, Corneilla-del-Vercol in the south and Villeneuve-de-la-Raho in the west.
