The constituency of Oelsnitz - Plauen, Land was a state electoral district for the state election in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. Its constituency number was 77.
The constituency comprised the following towns and communities in the districts of Oelsnitz and Plauen-Land : Adorf , Arnoldsgrün , Bad Brambach , Bad Elster , Bobenneukirchen , Bösenbrunn , Dehles , Dröda , Droßdorf , Ebmath , Eichigt , Fröbersgrün , Geilsdorf , Gettengrün , Großfriesen , Großzöbern , Gutenfürst , Heinersgrün , Helmsgrün , Herlasgrün , Hermsgrün-Wohlbach , Jocketa , -Jössnitz , Kauschwitz , Kemnitz , Kloschwitz , Kobitzschwalde , Kornbach , Krebes , Kürbitz , Leubetha , Leubnitz , Lottengrün , Marieney , Mechelgrün , Mehltheuer , Meßbach , Misslareuth , Möschwitz , Mulhouse , New salt , Neundorf , Oberhermsgrün , Oelsnitz , Ottengrün , Planschwitz , Posseck , Raun , Rebersreuth , Reuth , Rodau , Rodersdorf , Rößnitz , Ruppertsgrün , Sachsgrün , Schneckengrün , Schönberg , Schönberg , Schönbrunn , Schwand , Sohl , Steinsdorf , Straßberg , Syrau , Taltitz , Theuma , Thoßfell , Tiefenbrunn , Tirpersdorf , Tirschendorf , Triebel / Vogtl. , Unterwürschnitz , Weischlitz , Wiedersberg and Zobes .
For the 1994 state elections , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of the constituency of Oelsnitz - Plauen, Land merged into the newly formed constituency of Elstertal . The only exception was the previously independent municipality of Meßbach, which was incorporated into Plauen at the beginning of 1994.

46,993 people were eligible to vote. The turnout was 77.4%. 2.7% of the votes cast were invalid. Jochen Melzer (CDU) was chosen as a direct candidate. It received 51.4% of all valid votes.
