Wernsbach (colloquially Wernschbə ) is a district of the community Neuendettelsau in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

A stream of the same name flows through the church village and flows into the Franconian Rezat in Windsbach as a left tributary . To the east are the meadows Breiten and Viehweide , to the north is the Geißberg elevation ( 435  m above sea level ), to the south is the Klingenbuck . The Luderhölzer forest area connects to the west and the Kessel forest area to the northwest . A community road leads to Neuendettelsau (2 km northwest) or to Wernsmühle (1.3 km southeast), other community roads run to Reuth to the district road AN 19 (2.1 km north), to Bechhofen (1.2 km west) and to State road 2223 near Neuses (1 km south).

history

The basic word of the place name “-bach” and the alamannic field names “Brühl” and “Breiten” can be taken as an indication that the place is an early settlement of the 9th century. A first clearly assignable document does not exist until 1348 as “Wernherspach” meaning settlement, which is located on Wernhers Bach .

The St. Laurentius Church has probably been in the place since the 13th century . The right of patronage was initially exercised by the Spalter Canon Monastery of St. Nicholas , to which Conrad II, the pious of Nuremberg , had given this church, among other things, in 1295 . The canons had Wernsbach a taxable Untertansfamilie as from the Salbüchern the pen of 1380, 1460 and 1549 can be seen.

In 1434 the Heilsbronn Monastery acquired a meadow and subsequently three more farms.

In 1529 two subject families were subordinate to the main Hergersbach team in the imperial city of Nuremberg .

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, 14 teams are listed for Wernsbach: 1 property was subordinate to the Hofkastenamt Ansbach , 3 properties to the Heilsbronn monastery administration , 2 properties to the Kastenamt Spalt , 1 property to the Kastenamt Abenberg , 5 properties to the Imperial City of Nuremberg and 2 properties of the manor Neuendettelsau . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Monastery Office, also from 1608, the three Heilsbronn properties are classified as 3 courtyards. During the Thirty Years War , two of the three Heilsbronn courtyards were deserted. The information in the Salbuch of the Principality of Ansbach from 1684 is almost identical for Wernsbach. The 2 properties that were under the Neuendettelsau manor now had the Windsbach caste office as landlord.

In the official description of the Lichtenau Nursing Office from 1748, 16 subject families are specified for the place, 5 of which were subordinate to the Main Team Immeldorf of the Nursing Office and 11 foreign masters.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 15 properties and a communal shepherd's house in Wernsbach. The high court and the village and community rulership was exercised by the caste and municipal bailiff's office in Windsbach. The landlords were the Principality of Ansbach (7 properties; Kastenamt Windsbach: 2 estates, 1 estate, 1 inn; Heilsbronn monastery administrator: 1 courtyard, 1 third courtyard, Hofkastenamt Ansbach: 1 estate), the imperial city of Nuremberg (5 properties; Siechkobel Foundation St. Jobst: 1st Halbhof, 2 estates; Siechkobelstiftung St. Johannis: 1 courtyard; Landesalmosenamt: 1 Halbhof) and the Hochstift Eichstätt (Kastenamt Spalt: 1 Halbhof; Kastenamt Abenberg: 1 courtyard, 1 estate). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach . There were 16 subject families.

In 1806 Wernsbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict , Wernsbach was assigned to the Immeldorf tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Immeldorf, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Wernsbach broke up with Neuses von Immeldorf and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Wernsbach was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn rent office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn tax office , from 1929: Ansbach tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach .

Between 1954 and 1958 the Wernsmühle was reorganized from Windsbach to Wernsbach. In 1955, Sandbuck and Holzgarten on the outskirts of Windsbach, together with some of the houses in the Wernsmühle, were moved to Windsbach. The community received DM 3,500 annually as compensation for the lost trade tax. Overall, the area around Wernsmühle increased from 6.923 to 6.998 km².

In the course of the regional reform (January 1, 1972) Wernsbach was incorporated into Neuendettelsau, Neuses and the rest of the Wernsmühle to Windsbach.

Until September 24, 1989 the place had a stop on the railway line Wicklesgreuth – Windsbach .
