The American League champions , the New York Yankees , and the National League champions , the Los Angeles Dodgers , faced each other. The Best-Of-Seven series started on October 11th and ended on October 18, 1977. Winner after six games were the New York Yankees with 4-2, who were able to win their 21st championship.

As MVP of the series of New York was right fielder Reggie Jackson excellent.
