In the World Series 2019 from October 22 to 30, the winner of the North American Major League Baseball was determined for the 115th time . The best-of-seven series is traditionally played between the winner of the American League and the champion of the National League . It was presented for the third year in a row on YouTube TV .

The Washington Nationals defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS and entered the World Series for the first time.

The Houston Astros defeated the New York Yankees in the ALCS and entered the World Series for the third time.

The American League and National League winners were determined between October 12 and 20, 2019. The three division winners and the winner of the wild card game met in two division series matches in best-of-five mode ( ALDS or NLDS = American or National League Division Series). Then the winners of the Division Series matches played the best-of-seven from the respective league champion ( ALCS or NLCS = American or National League Championship Series ).
