The 1991 World Series was the 88th edition of the final of Major League Baseball between the American League champions , the Minnesota Twins , and the Atlanta Braves as National League champions . The Minnesota Twins won the "Best of Seven" series with 4: 3 wins.
It is noteworthy that all seven games were won by the home teams. The World Series is counted among the best of all time in the ESPN ranking. Five of the seven games ended with only one run difference, four of the games were walk-off wins , so they were only decided by winning points in the lower half of the last inning. In addition, in three encounters the decision was only made in extra time (" extra innings ").
With a total of 69 runs, the series holds the all-time record for the most runs in a seven-game World Series (in 1993 , 81 runs were scored in just six games).
As MVP of the World Series was Jack Morris excellent.
