Mulder has worked in the electronic surveillance department since the X-Files were closed, while Scully teaches at the FBI Academy. They meet secretly in the underground car park of the Watergate Hotel. Since Deep Throat's death , Mulder has doubts about his beliefs and he remembers his sister more often. Mulder meets Senator Richard Matheson, who has promoted and watched his work over the past few years. Matheson sends Mulder to Arecibo , Puerto Rico , where the observatory there has received signals from space. Mulder is supposed to forestall units of the military assigned to destroy all evidence of such signals. Matheson warns Mulder that he can hold this up for a maximum of 24 hours. At the observatory, Mulder finds a frightened man named Jorge, who uses a drawing to indicate that he has seen an alien. Meanwhile, Scully searches for Mulder and finds his lead. Suddenly the devices in the observatory receive signals from space. When a storm comes up, Jorge runs in a panic outside. Mulder later finds him dead, he seems to have been scared to death. Scully is followed, but she manages to shake off her observers at the airport. As Mulder examines Jorge's body, the earth begins to shake. The door pops open and the shadowy figure of an alien appears. Scully finds and wakes Mulder the next morning. When he wants to show her the signal recordings, the announced military force appears. Scully and Mulder escape with one of the tapes in their pockets as evidence. Back in Washington, DC , Mulder is reprimanded for his actions by Skinner in the presence of the cancer candidate, Skinner finally evicted the room and withdraws his previously pronounced disciplinary sentence. When Mulder tries to listen to the tape , he realizes that it was erased by electromagnetic pulses during the storm. Despite this fact, belief in himself has returned and Mulder continues with his work.
26th 2 The parasite The host 23 Sep 1994 Sep 14 1995 Daniel Sackheim Chris Carter
The sewage system on a Russian cargo ship off the coast of New Jersey is blocked. A crew member examines the tank and is pulled into the tank by an unknown being. His disfigured body was days later in the sewers of Newark found. Mulder gets the case assigned by Skinner and initially thinks it is some kind of punishment. In the evening, Mulder meets with Scully and tells her that he plans to leave the FBI to continue his studies in the direction of extraterrestrial life. Scully performs the autopsy on the dead man and finds a tattoo in Cyrillic and a worm on his back. A sewer worker is pulled underwater in Newark, but is rescued by his colleagues. He thinks he was attacked by a python . He undergoes a medical examination in Mulder's presence, and a strange bite wound is found on his back. Scully informs Mulder of their find and it turns out that the bite wounds on the sewer worker exactly match a suction worm, even though the mouth of a normal worm is considerably smaller. Mulder gets a phone call from a stranger telling him that he has a friend in the FBI. During the night, the sewer worker coughs the worm out of himself and dies in the process. Mulder visits a sewage treatment plant and finds a human-like creature there that has a mouth that exactly matches the bite wounds. Scully receives a newspaper through which she succeeds in identifying the dead sailor and also looks at the human-like being that Mulder discovered. Mulder thinks that the sewer worker's death could have been avoided if the X-Files were still open. The unknown being is supposed to be brought to a clinic, but it escapes on the way there. It hides in a camping toilet and then flushes into a waste water tank on a truck . Mulder receives another call, believing Scully may have informed people of his plans, but she says no. The creature is back at the sewage treatment plant and Scully says the worm Mulder found is a larva. An employee of the facility is attacked by the being, but Mulder is able to save him by closing a sewer grate and dividing the being in the middle. Scully believes that the creature on board the Russian ship that was hauling used materials from Chernobyl came to the United States and was made in a "soup" of radioactive waste. However, flukes have regenerative abilities and the remains of the creature in the sewers appear to be still alive.

In Franklin, Pennsylvania , the postman Edward Funsch learns that he has been fired for budget cuts. Immediately afterwards, Funsch sees the words Kill 'Em All on the display of his machine . At the same time, a man in the city's civic center sees the sentences No air (“no air”) and Can't breathe (“can't breathe”) on the elevator display, and immediately afterwards the words Kill 'Em All . Mulder comes to the Civic Center where it looks like a massacre has taken place. Sheriff Spencer says the suspect killed four people in the elevator until a security guard shot him dead. Spencer notes that there have been seven other cases of this type in the city in the past few days, with an additional 22 deaths. Mulder realizes that the elevator display has been damaged and that the dead suspect has green residue on his finger. At the FBI Academy, Scully reads Mulder's report, stating that all of the killers destroyed electronic displays during their rampage . In Franklin, Bonnie McRoberts fetches her car from the workshop and reads on the display of the diagnostic device that the mechanic wants to rape and kill her. She panics and kills the mechanic. Mulder and Spencer question her and meanwhile she receives the order on the display of the microwave that she should kill them. When she attacks Mulder with a kitchen knife, Spencer shoots her. Scully does an autopsy on her and finds signs of panic and abnormally high levels of adrenaline, as well as the same substance found on the elevator killer. She suspects that the substance causes a hallucinogenic response similar to LSD when mixed with other neurochemicals. Funsch is becoming more and more psychotic and keeps seeing messages on device displays. Since Funsch has a blood phobia , he keeps seeing the word Blood on the displays. The phobias of the perpetrators, who were previously inconspicuous citizens, are increased into the psychotic by the combination of drugs and electronic messages, and are thus the reason for their massacres. When Mulder is examining a fruit plantation that night , he is sprayed with pesticides from a helicopter and taken to the hospital . After he recovers, he sees the news and concludes that the pesticides are responsible. All citizens of the place are to be examined, but Funsch does not appear. They are looking for him who has climbed a bell tower and wants to start a massacre from there with a sniper rifle . Mulder spots Funsch on the tower and overpowers him. When Mulder is about to call Scully at the end, he can see the words All done! On the display . (“Everything done!”) And read Bye bye .

In Aubrey, Missouri , local police officer BJ Morrow informs her colleague Brian Tillman, with whom she is having an affair, that she is pregnant. They arrange to meet in a motel that evening so that they can talk about it in peace. While Morrow waits for Tillman, she is haunted by visions that cause her to dig in a huge field, where she then digs up the remains of an FBI agent. Mulder and Scully come to Aubrey because the remains are agent Sam Chaney, who disappeared without a trace with his partner Tim Ledbetter in 1942. During the autopsy of Chaney, Morrow realizes that the word "Brother" has been scratched into his chest. She tells Scully about her affair and pregnancy. Tillman informs the agents of a new murder: the woman has the word "Sister" carved on her chest and Morrow claims to have seen the woman in her dreams. In addition, Morrow can give a description of the perpetrator, whom she identifies as Harry Cokely on mug shots. Cokely was convicted of raping Linda Thibedeaux, who carved the word "Sister" into his chest. He has served the sentence. Scully and Mulder visit Cokely, who is now very ill and says he cannot leave the house. Morrow wakes up from a nightmare and notices that her "sister" has been scratched in the chest and in a mirror she sees young Cokely. Mulder and Scully visit Linda Thibedeaux, who tells them about what happened with Cokely in the 1940s. She admits that the rape gave rise to a child who she gave up for adoption . Investigations reveal that the child was BJ's father, and Mulder believes she is now a killer based on genetic memories. Mulder and Scully try to stop BJ, who is now with Linda Thibedeaux. Morrow attacks Thibedeaux, but pauses when she sees the scars on her chest. Scully and Mulder find Thibedeaux and suspect that Morrow drove to Cokely's. In Fairfield, Idaho , two caretakers watch an invisible storm raging down the street. A road construction worker is later killed by the invisible force of the storm. The next day, an elephant appears out of nowhere in front of an approaching truck . The driver can still brake in time, but the animal collapses and dies more than 40 miles from where it disappeared - namely from the Fairfield Zoo . Mulder and Scully watch the devastation in the city. Ed Meecham, the elephant's keeper, tells how he found the empty cage and the zoo's director, Willa Ambrose, says the zoo is about to close because several animals have disappeared. Blame it, according to her, on the animal rights activists who are known to free animals. The leader of the animal rights activists, Kyle Lang, denies having anything to do with the disappearance of the elephant. Lang said the Malawian government charged Ambrose with kidnapping a gorilla 10 years ago. According to Frohike and Byers, Fairfield is known for animal disappearances, but also for UFO sightings. The gorilla in Ambrose's zoo speaks American sign language . Scully follows an animal rights activist to the zoo. The activist wants to release a tiger , but when a bright light flashes the tiger has disappeared, but the activist is torn to pieces. The agents get to know the gorilla, named Sophie, and realize that the animal is scared. Scully examines the dead elephant and finds that it was pregnant. The tiger reappears at a construction site in Boise and is shot by Meecham while attacking Ambrose. The zoo closes and it is discovered that the tiger was also pregnant. Mulder has the theory that aliens impregnate the animals and are following some kind of Noah's Ark plan. Sophie was pregnant too, but the baby had already been abducted. Chaos breaks out on the USS Ardent in the Norwegian Sea. Parts of the crew refuse to obey the captain. 18 hours later the ship is sighted by a Canadian fishing boat, the young crew members of the Ardent seem to have aged by many years. Scully and Mulder visit the crew's only survivor who is quarantined in a military hospital. The man is very old. Mulder says the ship disappeared at the 65th parallel , where many ships have already disappeared. He also believes that there was a fold in time and that the Ardent was part of a government experiment similar to the Philadelphia experiment from the Second World War. In Norway, Scully and Mulder meet Henry Trondheim, who is supposed to take them to the last known position of the Ardent. You eventually find the ship, which appears completely rusted despite being only a few years old. Below deck they encounter numerous mummified remains of the crew. They also meet the aged commanding officer of the Ardent Captain Barcley, who says that the ship "lost time" after seeing a bright light in the ocean. Trondheim's boat is stolen and his partner is murdered. Trondheim is later attacked by the Norwegian whaler Olafsson, who has not aged although he has been on board the ship for two days. Trondheim, Scully and Mulder age unnaturally in the meantime. Scully suspects that the Ardent lies near a large metallic object under the ocean, creating free radicals that age bodies quickly. Only the sewer pipe is not corroded, which should mean that something from the ocean has contaminated the drinking water of the Ardent. Olaffson was therefore not affected by the aging process, as he only consumed the recycled wastewater. Trondheim releases Olafsson because he believes he will help him survive. Scully investigates why bodies age and also notices that Trondheim is trying to hold back the water. Trondheim therefore closes itself in part of the ship. Due to the corrosion, the ship can no longer withstand the pressure of the water, the first leaks occur and as a result Trondheim dies from water entering. Scully and Mulder lose consciousness, but are rescued by a military unit shortly before the ship sinks. Based on Scully's notes, she and Mulder can be treated accordingly.
