Alexander "Alex" Porter (born May 13, 1996 in Adelaide ) is an Australian cyclist who is active on track and road .

Athletic career

From 2013 Alexander Porter started internationally in junior and elite competitions. In the first year he won the bronze medal in scratch at the Oceanic Track Championships . In 2014 he became Junior World Champion in team pursuit together with Sam Welsford , Daniel Fitter and Callum Scotson , at the Oceania Championships he finished second in the scratch.

In 2016 Porter won the world championship title in team pursuit with Sam Welsford, Michael Hepburn , Luke Davison , Callum Scotson and Miles Scotson , with Welsford, Miles Scotson and Rohan Wight he also decided this discipline for the Australian one at the track cycling World Cup in Hong Kong Team. In 2017 he was two-time Oceania champion, in scratch and in team pursuit (with Kelland O'Brien , Sam Welsford and Callum Scotson).

Also in 2017, Alexander Porter won his first title on the road when he became national U23 champion in the criterion . In April 2017 he became world champion in team pursuit for a second time at the World Championships in Hong Kong (with Cameron Meyer , Sam Welsford, Nicholas Yallouris , Kelland O'Brien and Rohan Wight ).
